Who We Are
The Tātou Collective is the Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency for Pacific peoples across Aotearoa New Zealand. We fund, support, and coordinate Whānau Ora service provision to help families with the greatest needs to thrive.
What We Collect
To deliver and improve Whānau Ora services, we collect information about whānau who are involved in our services. This can include:
- Personal details (such as name, date of birth, gender, and contact information).
- Unique identifiers (like National Health Index, or Social Welfare Number).
- Information about the services received and progress towards whānau goals.
- Aggregated information about the number of whānau engaged with Whānau Ora and how services are working overall.
Why We Collect It
We collect this information to:
- Support whānau to achieve their aspirations.
- Monitor and improve the quality of services.
- Meet our reporting requirements to Te Puni Kōkiri and other funding agencies.
- Contribute to research and evaluation that helps improve outcomes for whānau.
How We Use and Share Your Information
We are committed to protecting the privacy of the whānau we work with. Information we hold may be shared with:

- Te Puni Kōkiri: We provide high-level, summarised data (group-level only) about Whānau Ora delivery. No information that could identify an individual or whānau is included in our reports.
How We Keep Your Information Safe
We take security seriously. All personal information is protected by strict policies, secure systems, and access controls. When data is used for research or reporting, it is aggregated so individuals and whānau cannot be identified.
